A 10-track album - The first out-poring after an 8 year re-pression, entitled "I don't want to be famous, I just want to make some cash". The title describes a constant battle I have, as an introvert, between the "need" to express and the "fear" of doing so. Feel the fear!

Fuck with the Machine (By H.McMillan) Mother... succour me and shelter me from myself Drowning in the dust and grinding rocks for bread The scorching, lifeless, ocean plains These blatant costs offset the gains And someone has to ask...How long can we fuck with the machine? Mother... can we cover other scars we have designed? You are the victim of our time But you suffer...But we're blind Rain alone can't cleanse our sins Or water soothe your open wounds And in our dreams we scream...How long can we fuck with the machine? Mother... succour me and shelter me from myself Drowning in the dust and grinding rocks for bread The scorching, lifeless, ocean plains These blatant costs offset the gains And someone has to ask...How long can we fuck with the machine? Mother... can we cover other scars we have designed? You are the victim of our time But you suffer...But we're blind Rain alone can't cleanse our sins Or water soothe your open wounds And in our dreams we scream...How long can we fuck with the machine?

Satellites (By H.McMillan) There's a lady, who says maybe Maybe she can save me and maybe, I can save her too But satellites spin around us keeping us apart And we have yet to start to make a change. As the suns rise to a big sky I hear her small sighs And I see love in her eyes But satellites spin around us keeping us apart And we may never get to start to make a change Maybe I'm just crazy believing she could ever save me I need a lover, not a mother or a friend But there's a satellite still spinning around her, holding to her fast Clutching at the past and he will be the last to ever make a change Make that change!

You can climb out on a limb and laugh at it all But a life close to the edge is a drop too far to fall I fear to fail. It's too far to fall. Too near to know. Too close to call. But there is no time like now because now has all of yesterday And what you see is all you get and all you ever see are memories I fear to fail. It's too far to fall. Too near to know. Too close to call. A life half-lived is only half a life But a life half-full may be full of misery. There's a time for you and I A time to live and a time to die. I fear to fail. It's too far to fall. Too near to know. Too close to call. I fear to fail. It's too far to fall. Too near to know. Too close to call.

Higher (By H.McMillan) I'm watching the sunset over a skyline of trees The whole land seems on fire I'm setting light to my memories And throwing bodies on the pyre as the flames get... Higher. Are you the fireman come to help me Have you come to put the flames out Or just to light your cigarette? Take me...Higher. Yeah. Swimming gently on the rooftop While the land is all at sea The flotsam and Jetsam of my life is floating past - Oh Lonesome me. And the tide gets... Higher. Yeah. Are you the pilot come to raise me I hear no helicopter rescue Just blood pumping in my ears Take me...Higher. Yeah. Blue skies and clouds floating over This hole in the ground, where I lie And I'm looking up to god's servant Who's throwing dirt into my eyes Are you sure this is the way to Jesus Or are you just dumping me in the ground? Take me...Higher. Yeah.

Old Man (By H.McMillan) Old man, I never knew you I share the blood that ran through you Did you live your life the way that I do now? So who am I Old man, I never new you But I share the blood that ran through you But did you live your life the way that I do now? So who am I? Old man, you are a mystery Did you avoid the pitfalls I don't see? Or screw your chances, just like me now? So who am I? I can use the tools you gave me But that's not enough to save me And I hope you can see me try. I can use the tools you gave me But that's not enough to save me And I hope you can see me try.

Life gets in the Way (By H.McMillan) I came upon a past life On my way into the city Just as I remember But now older and less pretty And I asked her with a thought wave How things had gone for her and she said Ooooooh I learned to shine, the world was mine, every day, yeah. And then I looked, it seemed like, time got in the way And as I turned to leave, the guard had grabbed my sleeve He told me, 'I'd like to believe in the here-after' 'I made my plans. I was a happy man.' I learned to shine, the world was mine, every day, yeah. And then I looked, it seemed like, time got in the way

music, Music, MUSIC (By H.McMillan) When life tries to break you Let music make you whole again Your heartbeats are misleading Emotions bleeding, increase the pain Though we are apart, don't let your heart control your feet Let music's rhythms move you Let them soothe you with the beat You know I won't forget you I won't let you slip away Whether far or near I'll have you near when I play So when life tries to break you Let the music make you whole again Oh, your heartbeats are misleading Emotions bleeding, increase the pain

Godless (By H.McMillan) Pinned upon a spinning rock between void and earthly grave Castle-buildings in the sand that wash away in waves With clasped-hands and head down-turned we pray unto the sky A black and vast expanse of space with nothing in reply The norms and moral codes we share, religious holy laws Merely guide along life's path, yet blame us for or flaws We plough our salt seeds down so deep so others never see The pain and suffering is endured with silent dignity Yet battles wage in holy names for one god or another We praise the lord to bless our cause and crucify our brothers No greater power shall prevail than that whick lies within us So we can stand up, strong and proud, without the tag of 'sinner' Godless. Here I stand Godless and naked in the storm.

about

1. Fuck with the Machine, is about us! Our planet! Our collective experience! Our collective consciousness! Mother Earth/Gaia as a machine.

2. Satellites is a planetary analogy about two people, and their children. (Crowded House have a song I love about "When Planets Collide!" which uses the same analogy. Also, Tasmin Archer's song "Don't blame this sleeping Satellite" is another great example)

3. I Fear to Fail is a song about me!

4. Higher is a song about religion.

5. Old Man, is a song about parental relationship - Specifically biological, but on another level also socially. My father and me... and about me and my son and every other parent and child. What, as a son or daughter, do we really know about our parents?

6. Life gets in the Way is a song about life... getting in the way... of all and any of what you might have thought your life might have been.

7. music, Music, MUSIC is a song about my feeling distant from, and unable to help someone though emotional crisis. (The title is from a line in the book "Murphy", by Samuel Beckett)

8. Chilled takes me to a warm beach at night, watching reflective lights on the sea and thinking deep thoughts (Can't remember what they were though! :-)).

9. Any day now is another reflective instrumental about waiting for the Universe to deliver dreams.

10. Godless is a song about the human condition - something more? Also, it's playing with organised religion using the medium of "hymns"
